Simple tips for healthy eating

Some people might need to start out by counting  calories and fat just to get the hang of things. This might be necessary for people who desperately want to lose weight and who have had difficulty in doing so. But there are some general tips on healthy  eating that can help you lose or maintain a healthy weight without suffering.

  • Eat slowly and stop when you are    full. This might sound obvious, but many people forget this, especially when they are really hungry. Take your time and chew each bite thoroughly so you are more aware of when you’ve had your fill. Stop when you are full, even it means leaving a few delicious bites on the plate
  • Don’t over – order Resist the temptation to order everything that takes your fancy on a restaurant menu. Ask yourself whether you really want a starter, main course, and that side order of chips. Choose your meals wisely, and try to avoid dishes that come smothered in sauces. If you must have sauce, order it on the side
  • Recognize the difference between hunger and craving When you are hungry eat something. We don’t anyone starving around here. On thee other hand , if you are not really hungry but crave a bag of crisps or a jam doughnut, try to find a healthy alternative or go without
  • When an apple just won’t do Sometime when you really want that doughnut,  no number of apple slices is going to help. Go ahead and have a doughnut, not three doughnuts. instead of eating an entire packet of fat-free biscuits, have one real biscuit if that’s what you really want, and don’t feel guilty about it. Sometime that’s  the only way to be satisfied

The magic for eating right is everything in moderation.

  • variety is the spice of life Eat a variety of foods every day so you get all the vitamins and nutrients you need. Eat mostly grains, vegetables, and fruits. Cut down on fats, oils and sweet
  • Arm yourself Surround yourself with healthy snacks so you are not tempted to eat things that are bad for you. Stock up on apples, bananas, or strawberries for when a sweet tooth hits you. Cut up carrot sticks, and keep them in the fridge for a quick snack. Apples with a little peanut butter are a great snack
  • Eat small meals instead of eating three large meals a day, try eating five or six meals or snacks throughout the day. This can prevent you from getting really hungry and overeating at mealtime
  • Don’t eat just before going to bed Although i realize this can be difficult because of work schedule, try to have your main meal in the middle of the day instead of night. Also, eat dinner a few hours before bedtime so you give your body a chance to use some of those calories before you sleep. Because your metabolism slows way down, you don’t burn many calories before you sleep. If you do have a late dinner, wash the dishes before you go to bed to burn off a few of those calories before you go to bed
